How to get to Sherborne

Wherever you’re travelling from, getting to Sherborne is simple enough. With various forms of transport available, whether you’re heading to Sherborne for work, pleasure or a mix of the two, this blog post details how to get to Sherborne without a hitch!

By car

If you’re travelling by car to Sherborne it can be easily reached from the A303 at Wincanton. By road, Sherborne is located on the A30 between Yeovil and Shaftesbury.

By aeroplane

If you are planning to visit Sherborne via an airport, there’s a couple of options. Firstly, you can fly into Bournemouth airport (32 miles from Sherborne) or alternatively, fly into Bristol airport (42 miles).

Looking further afield, if you plan to come to Sherborne from London (Heathrow) Airport, there is a bus/rail link via Woking and from London (Gatwick) Airport. For this option, simply change at Clapham Junction to connect with the train to Sherborne.

By train

You’ll be delighted to discover that South West trains operate a regular, hourly service from London Waterloo to Sherborne. This journey takes approximately 2hrs 15 minutes.
